    Remote lecturing provisions

Lectures for this course will take place on Microsoft Teams (due to the closure of the university for COVID-19). I don't like the platform, but let us use what the university provides.

Please send me an e-mail if you would like to get added manually to the 'team' for the course. Also, you are strongly invited to sign up for the course on Moodle, so that you can get updates and messages on the 'annunci' forum mailed to you automatically.

    Useful material

    • Matrix functions: definition, properties, and numerical methods.
    • Computational methods for linear control theory, including algebraic Riccati equations.

    Recommended books

    • N. Higham, "Functions of Matrices: Theory and Computation", SIAM, 2008. Available for download as individual PDF chapters from inside the Unipi network (or VPN).

  • Lecture videos and tablet notes

    Lecture videos are published here.

  • Final seminar

The exam for the course is a presentation (possibly including some numerical experiments, when viable) on a research article in the areas covered by the course. Some examples of possible articles are in the file below.
